"Rain will pass" is just an electronic music piece I did back in Denmark. Decided to post it sooner than I wanted. First plan was to make a small video to it but I just don't have the time or equipment to do it the way I see it in my head. Well... Casual story, right? Maybe one day I'll ask one of my friends to help me out on that. I already have a person on my mind... huh! He really likes the beat in the middle part of the track! (:
Anyway, I uploaded it on SoundCloud. Whole track was composed by me. Was working on Logic Pro 9 from what I remember. here it is! (:

Hello my funky, following bears! (:

I did a little bit of charity lately. In meaning - I helped out some of my movie making friends.
Tomek Ślesicki (Warsaw school of movie production) asked me to give some "lalala" vocals for one of his co-movie-making projects. So I did. It all happened very fast. I was in the studio one day after I was asked to help out. I didn't really know what to do until I heard music. about 2h later we had something to work on. I would say the whole working process was quite quick, very FUN but also a bit tiring. (maybe because of the late hour we recorded and my half working throat).

Here is a link to SoundCloud service where you can listen and download the track:

Funny story. After using my iBookG4 (from 2005) for almost a year now I found out how much fun can GarageBand be! Look what I did today without anything else but my mac. No additional mic's or transformers. just singing to my laptop! that was so much fun! I could to that forever! :D haha!
Oh, ok. I need better equipment. But still, check out what I did! (:

It's not really going well in my music life lately. I still have many inspirations and I write a lot which is very good! But I have problems with deciding what to do on my music education. It appears I cannot attend a music school on secondary level anywhere in Poland without having papers saying that I passed exams on 5 different subjects including ear training. (Im not sure if that's the way it's called in english). Anyway.. Education leading to those exams lasts 6 years. The secondary school lasts another 3 and than I can try to attend music conservatory. My biggest dream ever is to get to the Conservatory of Amsterdam on the pop line. I guess I'll have to say goodbye to that. Lately I'm really lacking hope.. Don't know what to do. Some of my friend say "Just try sending your music to radio stations or recording studios". And I'm really starting to disbelieve the goals I set myself couple years ago. WHAT TO DO?
So I burned my first demo CD. I'll just call it a give-away. Gave it to my best friend who is the first wheel in friends-chain. She wrote me later that there's a big chance it'll reach one of recording studios somewhere in Poland. Time will show...
I really need a kick. That's what I need.

"Bez Ciebie" ! Another song written in Polish! I kind of start enjoying writing in my language. Comes a little easer the more I practice. If I were to record it, I would try arranging it into funk or r'n'b kind of style. Maybe something a bit like music of a Polish band named "Sistars". It's really cool.
And it sounds like this:

Ps. Careful for your speakers while listening (:

"Not Enough" was a creation made for a performance.
I was told to write a song in which lyrics would be about wanting someone very much but not being able to own the person. Music was supposed to resemble one of Lykke Li's piece. Well.. in rhythm at least. I had absolutely no idea what to do. I just sat at the piano and banged some random notes. Suddenly I heard a melody! It took a while before I "wrote it down" and started recording. I have to give a huge THANK YOU to Kasia Kleszcz who guided me all through the process. She was the one who made choreography to this song so I wanted the piece to suit her as much as possible. She was a true sweetheart. Very patient and strict. If there was anything She didn't like She would just say it (even if there were some sounds I liked very much. She just said "throw this one out. I don't like it"!). So that's how music happened. I didn't know what to do with the lyrics though. Maybe that's why I kept them very simple. Most of my friends like it very much which I'm happy for!
I know that vocals need a better recording but I had to finish this one quickly. So it's not mixed properly (if you can call it mixed at all).
So I'm posting just a song on it's own and a clip from the performance so you can see how it looked like. (:

Oh, I almost forgot! The performance's was called "White Lies" and was a co-production of all the performance lines at Oure Sport &  Performance hojskole I went to. I must say I'm very proud of what we all came up with! I know it's possible to find the whole recording of it somewhere on the Internet. I think it's at VIMEO.

It's not really a song. I don't quite know how people categorize songs from "music pieces". I just call it synth music. Well, whatever it is... It's the first time ever I made a sound like that. Just needed a break from organic instruments. One of our classes was becoming friends with LOGIC. It's a mac program in which one can compose freely whatever plays in his mind. Of course, as a composers line - we had to know every step of music production. Working in any programs was just a matter of time. At the beginning I found it hard to work on mac's (but now I can't really imagine having a regular computer). So the whole process of learning was slow for me at first. But once I sat on it and just played around with sounds, I got used to using some of the tools. (Still suck at mixing).
I started from some techno, trans stuff. But I love Archive, Gotan Project, Massive Attack... They became an inspiration quite quickly. Of course, well at least in my opinion, this one has nothing to do with any of the bands I named.. But I think I did quite well as for my first steps in electronic music. I dunno.. Some of my friends like it, some say it's really bad, some just say they prefer to listen to my acoustic playing. I say - i needed to try something new, something fresh! So it was very fun for me to try it! (:
I present to you "Breathe again".

Oh! I almost forgot! I named it "Breathe Again aka BOMBAJ" because one of my friends compared it to a city in India. She said it's the siddhar instrument I picked. I dunno. Kinda suits me, anyway... (:

All righty! So! Im now posting a small videoclip that I made to my "Spinning" song. It's also the best recording of it so far. And trust me.. We have tried it out many times in different variations but I think this one sounds best. I know it's not perfect and it misses alot. But we didn't have much time to record it properly!
So the recording was done at Oure Sport & Performance hojskole, Fyn, Denmark, on June 2012. What do You think of it?

Sunday, 22 July 2012

One of my last recordings at Oure's music studio. This one was done very quickly. Just me and an electro-acoustic guitar. A small mix done in the studio to level it up. I didn't even have time to warm up so my voice doesn't sound best but what can You do.. I needed to save it somewhere. Now You can listen to it!
The most important thing about this song, is that it's in Polish. Polish is my birth language and I never used it to composed becouse.. well... if You need to know something about the Polish language than I'll tell You. It's not only hard to speak but it's also very hard to write beautifully in it. Maybe that's one of the reasons why most of what I hear on the radio in my home country is just shit. Lyrics are important and don't let anyone tell you different!
Before this song happened.. I wrote a three verse long poem. It took me a while to find all of the right words and double meanings. When I finished the poem I was quite proud of myself. I wanted to show it to someone but who reeds poetry nowadays? So I did what I do best. I made a song out of it. Four simple chords and couple of words for the chous. And I loved it.
So here is my very first Polish darling "Moją bądź".

Last concert at Oure...

"Runaway"

Hi,
I think it's time to do some updates. First I will post two videos recorded back in February. It was our first concert in Oure Sport & Performance hojskole. The first song is a duet of me and my new friend. His name is Christian Moller Haase. (You just HAVE TO check out his music! Im giving You a link to his soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/christian-m-ller-haase ).
On one of the first lessons we were given a task to cooperate in pairs that our teachers choosed. We were supposed to compose music and write lyrics together. I think we did a peace of good job on that one. Maybe it was luck but we got inspired quite quickly! I can also  honestly say that we share this song. Christian figured out the music and second verse. I came up with the melody line and the first verse. We also wrote the lyrics together. And this is what came out (:

It's called "Ironic love"

Second song I performed was a  song composed by me during a different exercise. We had a lottery of two chords on which we were supposed to think of music and melody. What I did is the first song ever in which I used more than 5 chords. So I am very proud of myself (:

here for You.. "Let there be sunshine"

"Im a star"

Here is one that I wrote already in Denmark. It's called "I'm a star". But not in a "look at me shine" kind of way. Rather one of those lost somewhere around space..

I wrote it for myself. You know.. being in a country different from your own, stuck in the period of your life when every decision you make is supposedly the most important (even though it's not but people make you think that it is). Also the time when one finally must seriously start thinking of "what's next" on the menu of life (poetic? pathetic... xD). Tired of giving people what they want and not focusing on what I really care about.. One day I just woke up and understood that I'm very lost in my thoughts, words and actions.
Anyway, just this kind of thoughts around it. Hope you like it! (:

Don't be afraid to leave a comment on how you like it or what are your thoughts on the subject..?

first impression and "Spinning"

It's finally time to show a little bit of what I do!
The first song Im gonna share with you here is called "Spinning". I wrote it a year ago. This song was the first one I showed to my Danish friends on the music line at school.

Here it is when played acousticly (:

And here it is when arranged to a band. We only got to play it once or twice before setting up mics so it's not the best. You can hear many mistakes but still I think it sounds interesting!
I'll try to convince boys to recording it more professionally.

about myself

Ok! I guess telling a little bit about myself would be a good idea!

My name is Zuzia Kłosińska. I was born in Warsaw, Poland on the 24th of October 1992 .
I have graduated high school in my hometown last year. From that time I attended a jazz vocal studio. Although I really love jazz, blues and all kinds of roots music, I don't really find myself in that style of singing. I didn't spend much time in that school as I got onto a European Scholarship program. That's how I landed in Oure Sport & Performance School in Denmark where I am now. (It's a great place! Check it out on www.oure.dk ) Time passes quickly and all I have left here is two months. (It's a half year scholarship. Started in January and will finish at the end of June). I am now searching for another school abroad as music business in Poland is quite narrow-minded and there are very few possibilities to actually get known or just to be able to live out of what I love doing most.
I have been writing songs (music and lyrics) since I was 14 years old. I guess you could say I got myself a nice collection of work in all those lost notebooks I own.
Most of what I write is acoustic music. But I do try to play with other musicians in a band.
Lately I got interested in digital music (can one call it like that? What I mean is music made mostly in a music program) but I still think that nothing sounds better than organic instruments!
I guess you could say I am still searching for my own style. I want to evolve, learn and DO as much as I can in this beautiful world of sounds. Possibilities are endless! (:

If you have any questions you would like me to answer, don't be shy to write.

for ending.. Im posting some pictures of me so you know how I look in my daily life (:
